The Second Hurricane

comp. Aaron Copland

Direction / Movement - Alastair Clark
Conductor - Angus Grant

A group of teenagers impulsively set out to make heroes of themselves when disaster strikes a nearby town. They soon find they are of no use, and when the storm returns, they are helpless.

A cunning fable about fostering a sense of collective identity in a world obsessed with individuality.

The Second Hurricane was performed October 2017 at Horti Hall. Presented by Victorian Opera. Photos: Charlie Kinross.

"The stage direction by Alastair Clark is imaginative and beautifully choreographed... the standard of musicianship and stagecraft is outstanding." - Classic Melbourne
